What to Expect on Your First Visit
Your child’s first visit to Petaluma Kids Dental Care marks the beginning of your child’s journey through a lifetime of oral health care. Once your child’s first teeth appear, we feel that it is important that your child becomes familiar with our office environment and our caring staff. Here at Petaluma Kids Dental Care, we believe in creating a healthy, positive learning environment for you and your child.
Your child’s baby teeth are required for proper chewing, developing muscles in the jaw and learning how to talk correctly. Having nice teeth can also help a child maintain a good self image.
At your child’s first appointment, the doctor will examine the teeth for any chance of decay. The dentist will also check to see if the teeth are coming in properly, check for disease in all the oral tissues and make sure the jaw is developing properly.
We want your child to feel comfortable coming to our dental office, early and regular visits to our office will get them used to the environment. We will provide you with lots of priceless information to help ensure that you are informed about brushing, general nutritional guidelines and how proper nutrition pertains to the growth of your child’s teeth, body and brain.
Before you arrive for your first visit, please complete all HEALTH INFORMATION FORMS that will introduce you to our office and allow us to begin your dental treatment.

To maintain proper oral health, we recommend your child have regularly scheduled dental visits.
